The Dexter Foundation: Serving Los Angeles County and Southern California
We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in the Southern California Area and placing them in a loving, forever home.

Ellie is very loving!

Cuddly Yorkie!

Ellie is a sweet 4 yr old Yorkie girl who was tied to post outside of a high kill shelter. We were able to rescue her just in the nick of time. Our vet discovered that Ellie has a slipped disc in her neck, that could have come from falling from a high place, or worse. Her spinal injury that limits her mobility, but she’s otherwise healthy and she doesn’t let that keep her from exploring! Ellie walks just fine, just a little stiffly, but she can fall easily. She has to be lifted on and off of furniture, but she’s the perfect dog for someone who doesn’t want a dog who needs exercise. Ellie loves to sit on laps and she lays quietly under her foster mom’s desk all day while she works. She's very well behaved, devoted and affectionate. Ellie loves to cuddle and has perfect house manners. She is spayed, chipped and up to date with all her shots. Ellie weighs only 8 lbs. She would love to have her human all to herself, but she has done well in a home with another calm dog. This sweet girl needs a little extra TLC but she has so much love to give! She's not yippy or barky the way some small dogs can be. Ellie needs a forever home that realizes not everyone is perfect, and she'll repay you with lots of love and devotion. If you'd like to meet Ellie and live in the Southern California area, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com We're only adopting out to the Southern California area. Foster Homes Needed

So many dogs are finding their way into shelters. Sadly, due to overcrowding, many never make it out. We can only save as many dogs as we have available foster homes. Can you save a dog's life by giving it a warm, loving home for a few days or weeks? We pay all of the dog's expenses. Your kindness will be repaid with lots of love and affection! As a foster parent, you will NOT be required to bring the dog to weekly adoption events. We want fostering to be easy and rewarding! Every new foster home is a dog's life saved!
