The Dexter Foundation: Serving Los Angeles County and Southern California
We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in the Southern California Area and placing them in a loving, forever home.

Donut is very sweet!

Donut is a very sweet, loving and easy going little girl looking for a new home! When she got lost from her family, she patiently waited at the shelter for them to rescue her. No one ever came. Sadly, Donut was injured and ran out of time. When we heard she was going to be euthanized, we had to rush a volunteer out to get her! We had Donut thoroughly examined by our vet, and she is doing very well. She has a little arthritis in her neck and legs, and has a wobbly little walk, but is otherwise fine. Other than a few over the counter supplements like fish oil, Donut is not on any medication and is otherwise healthy. She gets along well with other dogs and children. She likes cats a little too much, so should probably go to a cat-free home. Donut likes to cuddle and play ball. She's house trained, quiet, well behaved and very easy going. Donut weighs about 10 lbs, is spayed, fully vaccinated including rabies and microchipped. If you'd like to meet Donut, please complete our adoption application found on We're only adopting out to the Los Angeles area. Adoption donation $200

Foster Homes Needed

So many dogs are finding their way into shelters. Sadly, due to overcrowding, many never make it out. We can only save as many dogs as we have available foster homes. Can you save a dog's life by giving it a warm, loving home for a few days or weeks? We pay all of the dog's expenses. Your kindness will be repaid with lots of love and affection! As a foster parent, you will NOT be required to bring the dog to weekly adoption events. We want fostering to be easy and rewarding! Every new foster home is a dog's life saved!

The Adoption Process
