Rufus is very sweet
Young Welsh Terrier

Meet Rufus, our newest rescue! Rufus is still just a puppy at about 9 months old. His owner flung a dog carrier out, and poor Rufus was inside. The owner said he didn't want him anymore. A volunteer ran and saved Rufus. He was in horrible condition, so we rushed him to our vet. He had large infected open wounds on all four legs. The vet said that based on the severity of the "pressure ulcers," he was likely never let out of that crate. Rufus was also severely underweight. Despite being in terrible pain, Rufus was very sweet and loving. He just wanted to give everyone kisses. Our foster dad changed his bandages every day and gave him lots of food and love. Rufus is healing and now ready to be adopted. He loves everyone he meets, including cats! Rufus is quiet and well-behaved. He's so smart that he learned how to walk on a leash and be potty trained very quickly. He has a happy, fun personality. Rufus looks like a Welsh Terrier to us, but we're not entirely sure. Does anyone have any ideas what breed he might be? He now weighs about 15 lbs. If you'd like to meet Rufus, please complete our adoption application on dexterfoundation.com
