Gemma is a sweet young dog who wandered up to our volunteer on the street. She had multiple chains and padlocks hanging from her neck. She was in bad shape, and the chains had begun to dig into her skin. She had clearly been wandering around with those chains around her neck for some time. Someone had probably tried to help her, and she ran off dragging her chains with her. Our volunteer was able to cut the chains and locks off and take Gemma to our vet. She is a happy, healthy young Lab that loves to play and give kisses. She gets along well with other dogs, and dog savvy cats. Gemma loves to play with her smaller foster siblings, but is also good sitting quietly on her dog bed. Gemma is a big goofball that doesn't realize she's a big dog, so shouldn't be around anyone that could easily be knocked over. So no very small children or very elderly adopters. Gemma is very smart and has been learning how to be a dog, and is now ready to find her own forever home. She is house trained, and is perfecting her leash walking skills.
